Jacques Fresco

Hello everyone, I usually write about famous people, movies and other things which move me, but surprisingly enough these days I constantly have the feeling that I have not yet delivered the very deep entrails I really have in me. Please don't get me wrong not saying that what you're going to read here is going to be the quintessence of my blogger work - far from that, I would rather call this week of posting a week of revival and a try in a new direction. And speaking about new direction I really don't know who represents a new direction in life more than Jacques Fresco!!!

As avast majority of people in sure you guys never heard of this genius and surely never heard about his work and projects. Well, as a wise man once told me "its better late than never" (oh you met the same wise man, too?). So, let's continue with Fresco's work. Do you remember deep in our childhood we used to think of scientists who will once change the world and turn it into a better place for everyone to live in? Well, I did and as many people out there, I do see this happen. The only thing is that it seems that technological progress hasn't been that much of a game changer on a global scale. What I mean is that technology be it as advanced as it is hasn't changed "real" problems we face today, for instance:
  • Dependence on oil
  • Dependence on money
  • War
  • Poverty
  • Starvation
  • Corruption

The list goes on and on, but I guess anyone who has the least knowledge of what's going on in the world today knows what I mean.

The thing is that all of us (well, at least the majority) think that the situation is the way it is and that it's always going to be that way. However, some guys out there don't think so at all. One of them as you might think is Jacques Fresco. Not only do consider him a revolutionary, but he's equally a mentor and visionary worth following. Wouldn't bore you with all the details about some of his projects, the most noticeable of which will probably be "the Venus project", a project dedicated to creating a world with a "Resources based economy", a society with no money, a society based on collaboration rather, than competition. Think it's impossible? Well, think again! Believe me what Jacques Fresco is doing is a real revolution at a global scale. Revolution which in my opinion can easily die out like most great ideas before this, due to lack of public awareness. Revolution which is in a deep need of support.

The Venus project

Anyway, that was a "cris de coeur" dedicated to a "Human" with a capital "H". A person who is really worth your time.
