Ken Park

Hello everyone, writing today about one of those movies that you either hate or love. A movie that I personally watched with such an amazement that I really wouldn't know what to compare it to. Think the quote, "Teenlife like you don't want to see it" says it all when it comes to making up your mind about this movie. So, here we are with Ken Park...

So as I said before, this movie is not for the weak hearted at all. I mean, if you are thinking of watching a movie on a casual night, Ken Park is definitely not the best choice. However, if you are into something that will surely blow up your mind, Ken Park is just the thing you need.

First of all, when watching this movie, you should try to keep an open mind. Not only because some scenes there are really rough and some might even say disgusting, not at all. The reason for a need in open mindedness is the fact that there are so many taboo issues being shown right in your face here, that not being open to this ideas might leave you a bit bitter. This aspect of bitterness is probably most felt at the very end of the movie (but of course, no spoilers:-) ).

So, let's get to the body of the film then, because I think that the impressions I've been expressing so far, might not give you a good idea of what the movie actually is. You see I'd describe Ken Park as one of those movies that takes an aspect of our society (in this case American teenagers) and really pushes the limits of the issue under question to its fullest. This goes from sexuality (actually, I think that sexuality is the key issue in this movie) right up to parenthood. All this ideas and themes come into one and play out really well. And the cast in this movie, though very new and young still succeeds in pulling out a stunning performance yet to be matched. So for all these reasons and much more, Ken Parkmust-watch...
