Jim Carrey

Leaders, leaders and more leaders!!! Weird way of beginning a post about Jim Carrey, right? Nevertheless, Jim Carrey is and always will be a leader. A leader in comedy, a leader in acting, a leader indeed. In fact when writing this post, I thought that it would be better to write “no comment, we all know he’s awesome”, but after meeting some people out there who don’t know anything about people that matter, think it will be most appropriate to do a bit of an introduction as to who Jim Carrey is. Mr. Carrey is probably one of the most influential comedians of his time starring in some of the most memorable movies of all time, of course if you agree with the fact that comedy as a genre can be considered a top notch movie genre. But unlike most comedians who don't succeed in moving from comedy to drama or tragedy, Jim Carrey is probably one of the few that succeeded in doing so. Won't go into the details of describing all movies he acted in right now, as I would like to concentrate on his personality and aura first, that's right his aura.

Early in this blog I wrote about many comedians like George Carlin (another leader as well), Bill Hicks and many more, but these guys were mostly stand up comedians and most of their endeavours on the big screen where no near that of Jim Carrey. And unlike Jim Carrey, for the most part they had a pro active approach when it comes to expressing their points of view. Be it religion, politics and so on, they all had a tendency of fighting the establishment or for the very least made attempts to open up our eyes a bit more on the social injustices surrounding us. Jim Carrey on the other hand first came into the world of comedy as an entertainer (just like it was the case with Andy Kaufman), and one thing is for sure, Jim Carrey matched that level of excellence owned by Kaufman and I can even say took it a notch further. Indeed his parodies, grimaces and level of absurd are just stellar, I for one don't know anyone in showbiz today or in the past that has reached that level of mastery yet. In fact I think Jim Carrey is the only actor out there that on his own justifies a salary of $20M per movie (I'll pay that kind of money myself, be I a Hollywood producer in search of genuine talent). If you are one of those people who isn't acquainted with Jim Carrey's work, my advice would be to begin by watching The Truman Show, I love you Phillip Morris and of course Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind (a bit more details on these in later posts). Think that these films will give you guys an idea of Jim Carrey's versatility and talent.

Can go on and on about the talent, calibre and much more when it comes to Jim Carrey, but there is even more to say about this "Gentleman". Unlike many actors and celebrities of his calibre Jim Carrey didn't plunge into celebrity and fame. Talking about all these celebrities we have in rehab clinics sprawling here and there in Hollywood. Indeed, Jim Carrey of recent has been deeply involved in a path of enlightenment inspired by the great teacher and visionary Eckhart Tolle (a bit later about him), giving the idea of violence, fighting against gun trade and in general practising meditation, spirituality and so on. Though I'm quite sceptical about all the changes famous people usually on go. The path chosen by Jim Carrey is really a nice one, a logical one and a timely one, too. Looks like a natural progression of a star of his calibre just like what happened with John Lennon and his like. Guess sooner or later everyone comes to this deeper understanding of life and if he doesn't, well, you guys know what happens.

I can go on and on about Jim Carrey, but for the most part I hopefully got my message through. That of a message of love and compassion, talent and genius.Peace, Love and Unity...
